Welcome and very nice job on the burst finish! I like it. The lugs in the middle might be MIJ Slingerland knockoffs. If they are flat on the mount side (no nubs that fit in the shell holes like original Slingerlands) that's what they are. I have a bunch of those lugs and asked the same question about them not long ago. And that's what I was told. I like the blue double bass kit too! Good stuff. ;)

Thanx FFR428

Came out pretty decent for first time doin it.

Water based stain rules.

Spray the black lacquer on the edges next. Scariest part.

and the restoration continues......

All the harware is cleaned up and here's the shells after the black and 7 coats of lacquer(2 more to go). Then a couple coats of clear coat for shine.

At first I thought,..could`ve gone a little darker and lower with the red, today after seeing them with the black, walking back to the computer looking from a distance,...they look pretty damn good dude !!

one thing I do REALLY like about the old kits.........the built in cymbal rods like on my Sonors.

Absolutely BEST location for a ride cymbal if you use only 1 mounted tom.
