thanks for sharing your Buddy stories with us TommyP. I, for one, really enjoy reading them. The best of luck to you with the book. I really hope it happens. i would much rather read a book then search the internet. i don't always trust the internet. When this book does happen...i get the first autographed (by you) copy (big grin). Please?Question about the snare collection: are these snares actual snares Buddy owned/played, or are they just the same model/type he played over the years?

Robyn64!

The BR snare drum collection is made up of all the different models he played from 1950 to 1982. None of them are drums that Buddy actually owned however. There ARE some of those out there of course!, and more than a few have been offered to me over the years. The price tags can be a tad ridiculous though, and in some cases, THOUSANDS. That said though, there would be no way to complete a collection like this if the drums were actual drums that Buddy played as many are missing/gone .. but .. what I did was ...

... I focused on finding not just the model, but the proper year, wrap, hardware, etc. as Buddy played it during that time! THAT is what makes this collection so unique as well as "one of a kind" .. because .. it would be near impossible to locate some of these today in this condition with every year/build being correct. I will say I have close to 20 years of searching and research in this collection! I can't name names, but ... I got a SERIOUS offer from a name drummer/collector to purchase the ENTIRE collection. I didn't say yes, but I didn't say no either. I held him off a bit while I contemplate the offer. This particular drummer's drum tech saw the collection at the Chicago Drum Show when I displayed last year. I was shocked when he got in touch this spring! Anyway...

THANKS for all the very nice words Robyn! Glad you enjoy!
