Hey Guys Newbie Here - Trying to figure this snare out....

Loading...

I need some help guys. Based on the information on the research page I have a Slingerland Snare that dates between 1979 - 1984 Serial#:573909. The only thing is my snare has a metal body and I cannot find that finish in those year frames on the website. As you can probably already tell, I am not a drummer, actually I am a guitarist, please no lead guitar jokes :)

I picked this snare up in a trade and would like to sell it on eBay but I don't have the foggiest clue what to ask for it. A brief description. It has an Evans top Head, Remo bottom Head, a chain thingy (strainer???), a METAL body (wrapped over wood), a screen printed football badge (in the pic below), Measures 5 1/2" X 14", has 10 bolts (lugs?) and is in nearly perfect condition. Just a little dirty from storage. I had one of my buddies play it and he absolutely loved the sound. He described it as tight and punchy??? He would have purchased it but he plays Roland V-Drums. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

That is a Slingerland 100 Series COW Snare Drum 10 lug. You will find a photo on this page. CLICK HERE (look at the 80's catalog photos)

You do not see a bunch of those with 10 lugs. So I would say $100 - $175
