here's an interesting MIJ kit for the archives

This is for sale in New Zealand. The brand (WINZ) was a New Zealand brand, the letters standing for Wellard Industries New Zealand who were a musical instrument supplier. I'm sure they were an imported stencil kit, probably Japanese but I'm not sure. The wrap is like nothing I've seen before. Anyway, just thought they were worth sharing for the novelty value.

Great - and that's really nice: a badge (with those wavy lines) reflecting the finish! :D

For me that's 70's feeling pure.

The lugs are very similar to ones of a cheap drumset line over here (with a crazy name: Musikmaschine Detonator), but those lugs were made of simple steel sheet - not die cast.

Thanks for sharing the pics with us.

The lugs on the 12" are modern MIC's,while the others look to be Hoshino springless "sharktooth".Had to stop looking at the picture-started falling out of my chair...seasick...Burger Kin

Well spotted! By the looks of the fade around those MIC lugs, they would appear to be replacements. Odd.

Yes jccabinets, those are some quality hats. Nice and thin and bendy/bent. Honestly, it's no wonder so many kids give up so easily when they have to use cymbals like that. They actually hurt the brain when hit.

Man... I love that wrap! Gives me flashbacks! With a wrap like that, you would maybe have to keep a bottle of Dramamine handy though! lol The snare looks kinda plain next to that kit.
