Yes. Last summer I did two more marching snares and another set of quads for our local HS. Look pretty much like the 2nd picture (blue) above, so no need for another pic. The Pearl purple sparkle set in the first post went to a HS in the KC area for their jazz band. I also did some custom repair work on 4 sets of quads for the middle school in Collinsville, Ok. They had bought a used drumline from another school, but were deeper shells and too heavy for MS kids... so they had me cut them all down and then replace the tom trim.

This summer, the same director has asked me for a quote on rewrapping that entire drum line. IF I get that job, it will be a BIG one (4 BDs, 4 marching snares, those same 4 sets of quads). Yes, I'm already looking for school work for this summer! MOST of my school work is the "no-money-changes-hands" variety. I do the repair/rebuild/rewrap and supply the materials, and in return the school gives me all their old percussion (and sometimes other band instruments) that's stacked in closets and in come cases not been touched in years! :)

Here's another of my "custom" snare drums in my drum room. This one is a 5x13 wrapped in Midnight Glitter from Precision Drum. I would love an entire kit with this wrap, but, unfortunately, it's no longer available.

Hi there - just finished my little restoration project - I picked up a 1971 blue/olive badge Ludwig Classic Maple 16" floor tom and 22" kick (clear shells inside) in Sky Blue Pearl - the wrap is in great condition but the lugs needed some work - I could not find a 13" Blue Sky Pearl tom anywhere so added a 1970 blue/olive badge White Marine Pearl tom (also clear inner) to the set - and I actually think it looks pretty damn fine :-) Not to mention the sound - man, these things sound awesome. Here's a pic of the kit in my little studio at home:

Love the use of the Gretsch key holder in that midnight glitter snare Mark. I've always wondered why Rogers did not do as Gretsch and Camco did with a key holder in the drum, especially considering that the top of the line Rogers was all about using the drum key. I put one in a Rogers bass that had an extra Londoner mount. I used a blank plate and a Camco key holder. Worked very nicely to make use of holes that were otherwise extras. the bass was original in jet black and a loner, to which I added same era tom loners wrapped in jet black to build a 20,13,16 set-up.

Also, here is a set of Camco's that came to me re-wrapped in a cheap satin flame imitation. The wrap was shoving under the lugs and ripped at the seams. So on went the merlot sparkle, which was pretty close to the original burgundy sparkle that Camco had used.

Thanks Dan! It's not 100% perfect in all light sources, but a damn sight closer than the blue tint it came with.

I'd like to get confirmation on something I believe - Rogers never offered sparkle [hex] wrap, and Ludwig never offered glass glitter. Is this true? Or maybe true starting at some point in the 60s? My feeling is that glass glitter is superior and falls in line with Rogers commitment to being the best.

70's 3ply clear interiors 18" is at precession being rewarped.

I have seen Rogers drums from the early 70's that used hex silver sparkle rather than the glass glitter. I'm not sure about other sparkle finishes from that era. I think the use of glass glitter was pretty consistent from the time of introducing the beavertails through 1969. I don't think I've ever had a set with B&B lugs and a sparkle finish, so I can't speak to that era.
