Hello

I´m kind of newby, so any help will be appreciated.

What do you think about these two sets?

Are they good vintage sets for alternative country music (I´m not a big hitter) and which one do you prefer?

What would it be a reasonable price?

Thank you in advance

I can`t calculate those prices to US, but the Premire appears complete and is three ply with rings, has a larger bass, and looks to be in great shape.

I`m not see`n snap-lok lugs on the Sonor. It`s half a Super Champion from the Centennial year. It`s not complete but is nine ply and also looks to be in great shape. The missing parts are the same as Phonics and easy to find.

The three ply would prolly be the better sound for Country !!

It`s a drum,.....Hit It !!

You know, those links will expire after some time.

Could you post a pic or two for historical value?

Related the Premier, sorry for this stupid question:

the fact that it´s been refurbished and wrapped, doest it detract value to it?

Thank you!

No better drums made anywhere in the world than Sonor Phonics or Premiers of that era (late 60s thru mid 70s).

I own a set of each in 'bop' sizes. The Phonics were my main gigging set for 25 years until I acquired the Premiers, which are slightly more than 1/2 the weight of the very heavy Sonors... if that matters to you. The thick shelled Phonics will project somewhat more than the thin shelled Premiers, but both have superb tonal quality.

Here is a demo by the seller of my premier set with jazz tuning.

Now one can see that the Sonor FT is missing a bottom hoop in the pic.

The fact that the Premier has apparently been stripped of its wrap and refinished will affect value but that should work in your favor as the buyer.

putting value a side the sonor is the better all around kit . i love premier drum's but premier can be a tough sell even in the best of condition's and sonor will sell fast if you get tired of them

Get both! ;)

Personally I'd grab the Premiers (you didn't see that coming did ya?)!

Sonor and Premier both make quality drums.

Unfortunately, no one has come out with a drum kit that makes any type of country music sound acceptable.
