tom, Novus 1 and 2 are the products you'll use to polish and shine your drums with! I'm in no hurry with the spurs, just let me know when or if you need them,!

I was planning on taking all of the hardware off and cleaning/polishing the chrome on all of the drums, so should I not take the resonant side rim off and leave that calf resonant on there? or is it ok to take it off then put it back on after the cleaning? (I could be in dumb question zone right now)

Also, how do I match that calf for resonant heads for the rest of the drums for playing purposes? Fiberskyns for reso? Ah! I still have to decide what heads to use and such. How valuable is an 18" calf broadkaster head, and is it worth anything to anyone to sell separate with some stains and such on it?

Questions questions...

tom, take the calf skin heads off the drums and store them some where safe! and get modern plastic heads, remo white coated ambassadors for the top, and clear remo ambassadors for the bottom, and the bass drum is a powerstroke 3 smooth white or coated back head, and ambassabor smooth white or coated front head!

Nice score! Did you find out what size that wfl snare was?

I would still leave the calf on the bottom, and put a plastic on the top...a la Bernie Dresel, ex Brian Setzer band........

I sold Bernie a few NOS 13" Gretsch calf heads some years back, and thats what he told me he does......calf bottom/plastic top...............less tuning hassles that way..........

Actually, now that I think about it,I think he puts calfs TOP/plastic bottom!

Makes more sense.........

Again, please make sure to do before/after pics........

I think that 18" will just gleam when you are done!electricit

Thanks for the advice on heads. I think the only calf head on any of the drums is the resonant on the 18". I'll probably keep it on the reso. I took the batter head off, it was unmarked, but plastic.

I looked at the WFL snare again and it's 14x6.5 (assuming 6.5, maybe more or something odd, but it is deeper than 5.5).

I will be sure to take before and afters.

Tom, please post pics of the wfl snare drum, and did it come with this kit also?

There are two close up shots on the first page of this thread, that's all I have of it right now. It did not come with this set, I plan on picking it up next month when I have more funds and using it as a nice matching snare. Outside of it being a nice match to my Gretsch set and in great condition, a deep snare has been on my watch out list for a while (I own two snares but both are 5.5).

If I go check it out again or purchase it, I'll take more pics.
