Help with Vintage Rogers Set

Loading...

OK guys, I am a guitar player and don't know much about Vintage Drums.I came across this set of Rogers drums and would like to get a price check on these.

- There are tears in some of the blue coverings.

- One of the Tom drums is missing the bolts that holds the ring on.

- The Bass drum is also missing 2 of what looks like just the Knut part that holds the ring one. Its not the whole piece just the top to the bolts that are missing.

- The Hi Hat is missing some of the parts to hold the Cymbals on.

- As far as I can see they may need to have the Blue covering repaired on 3 of the drums, some misc parts, and they would be a fully functioning great set of drums.

Any Ideas on how much they are worth?

Hi Guitarcarr...and Welcome to the forum!

Your kit is and early Fullerton Londoner, around 1969-71. Based on what you describe and what needs to be repaired and/or replaced, I would say the kit is worth maybe $500. Is this a kit you've acquired and want to sell, or what you need to pay for them? Let us know!

Mark, I have been playing in bands for years........so I can sort of play the drums too. I already have acquired the drums. I may want to keep them and restore them myself and play ém! But if they were worth it for me to sell them I might do that also.

If I were to sell them, I'd rather sell them as a full kit. I'd rather see them restored.

I can probably piece them out.......but that sort of lame. They should stay together.

So, I am not sure yet which way to go.

Yes, welcome Guitarcarr!

Mark's got you covered right on with the value. The later Fullerton era stuff tends to go for less and the cracks in the wrap and missing parts make for a bit of costly restoration.

Great gig kit though. Someone can buy one 13" Rogers hoop, grab the rods off the top of the 12" tom and play it out as a 20,13,16 setup right away. I would suggest replacing the tom heads with Remo Ambassador top and bottom. Emporer's sound pretty good on top though. But the black dots are lethal for Rogers drums in my view.

Also, any standard clutch will work on the hi-hat for holding the cymbals until the real one appears. Take the hat to Guitar Center and have them check one for size. Probably $20 or so.

Get 'em out there and playin' again! The Band
