Help with Slingerland tom mount

Loading...

Hey all,

I have a 1966 Slingerland bass drum in SBP. I'm trying to find out more info on the tom mount. Here's a couple of pics (click them to view larger ones):

The bass drum has no other holes at all. Does anyone know what kind of tom mount might have been used for this drum? The large hole in the center is too small for a pearl-type mount. Here's the hole spacing:

Horizontal: 3 5/16"

Vertical: 2 1/2"

It looks to be holes for a Rogers Swivomatic, actually.....they were hecka popular back then....you find that people put 'em on all kinds of drums (see Ringo's Black Oyster Luddies, for example).

Can someone with a Swivomatic mount measure the holes center-to-center?

There are 3 holders that used the same plate

the 150 single

160 double

and 170 an abortion......an huge double....

A great way to cover the unit is to Use an 3/8" aluminum plate

you would mount that to your base drum with the 4 holes....You could then mount your new holder to that....If you have to open up the center hole a bit thats OK.. The new holder get bolted to the new plate but not necessarily to the drum..

TRY NOT TO drill any more holes in that area as you will weaken the shell..Excited
