Help with identifying this kit!

Just found this on ebay!

Could somebody tell me something about it?

All i know is that the strainer of the snare is a Tromsa, you can also see the extra holes on the drum!

Some ideas:-)?

That hardware looks a lot like the stuff on a late 60's Pearl kit I have. Man, that color is really cool looking. All the lugs/claws/spurs and interior wood look like what I have.

Pros - but unfortunately bigger Cons.

That appears to be a Pearl stencil (IMHO) and that wrap is very cool. Those shells sound amazing as well (with good heads tuned correctly).

Unfortunately - hate to be the buzzkill - but you will be very hard pressed to find a FT to match or even to find a wrap of that color to match. Because of these two problems, I would easily decide to pass on this deal no matter how rare it is that MIJ/affordable MIJs show up in your area / and not matter how good a deal it seems.

Don't be seduced into a problem that you will likely never be able to solve.

BTW - that would be a 12 and 13, not a 10 and 12.

your arguments are right:-) When he would give it to me for 80 Euro, then i would take it, even with all the Problems(wrap, floortom...) but 150 is a bit steep!

As so totally cool as it is, this seller will have a hard time getting rid of this at any price. Unless somebody out there has an orphan FT in storage on the years long hunt for the rest of its family......

The only other case is for a jellybean kit. At that, they would still have to use the oyster colors (IMHO) and you really would not want 2 of the same color on a JB kit anyway (again IMHO).

I'd pay about US $40 for them as a project kit, then heartbreaking as it would be, I'd re-wrap them with a modern wrap. You will never find that wrap again so no use in fretting over it. I do disagree with one point John makes, I see floor toms to match that all the time (in lugs and hardware, not in color), you won't have any trouble finding one. It may take some time, but there are plenty of them out there. Of course at the end of the day you won't have a collector kit anymore, but John is right, those shells can sound great with modern heads. So you could make a dandy players kit out of 'em.
