You don't want to move here, you have better health care, and lower taxes.Speaking of ebay.........may I add a question>? I vowed not to ship international ever again since I had an issue in Germany, yesterday, I had a RK listed, had a guy in Russia that really wanted my drum, so I let him bid, and he won. I worry about trackability in a foreign country, and what if for some reason they can;t deliver to the address provided? these are what worries a seller, I'm going to the USPS facility today, $500 sale and $156 ship is a huge risk for a seller. Gary

Is that why Canada's health minister came to the Good Ole US of A to have his major surgery performed recently then????

Your drummers not much good is he!? What you need is someone that's as good as me. ! John Henry Bonham !!

Yes - I can see the risks and extra trouble, sometimes, shipping out of the USA to other countries or even Canada.

But this issue with me is not that. I have an alternate USA address that is associated with my Paypal account....it's in Blaine Washington...just across the boarder from Vancouver BC. I'm blocked from emailing and bidding because I live in Canada and my PC email address is in Canada.

It would be no extra trouble or risk for the seller for me to win the drum and the seller send it to my address in Blaine Wa. I've had that done 5 times in the last 3 years with no problems.

another topic...

I have large items shipped there because it's less expensive for me to do that and drive across the boarder and pick my package up in Blaine.

Eg: I bought a bass drum recently. It was being shipped from the Eastern USA. The cost to my address on Vancouver Island BC Canada was going to be well over $200 ....can't remembe exactly how much it could have been closer to $300. I chose Blaine Wa. for my shipping address and it was less than $80. Often I see Free Shipping within the USA for snare drums for instance. But it would be over $50 to me here in Canada for that same drum....if I'm lucky. It's the Boarder....

Ah haaaaa!

I got around the 'blocked from bidding' on eBay and other sites!

All I did was go into my account on eBay. Like I said in the start of this thread I have a registered-with-eBay alternate shipping address in the USA. There is a selection beside it to make it Primary. I did that and went back to the item I was banned from bidding on yesterday. I bid....and what do you know....My bid was accepted!

It was Customer Service on a completely different buy/sell website that told me to do it......and it's working.

All I have to do is remember to select my 'alternate address' in Canada (my home address) when I want stuff shipped directly home. But there is a prompt for that on the PayNow page.

Hope this helps others that are in Canada and are having the same trouble.

My wife thought I was having too much fun with the bidding as it was. Wait until she finds out I overcame this hurtle....haha. Maybe I shouldn't retire just yet..
