The leg mounts are Rogers "Sta Tite" mounts from the late '50s or '60s.

Right, this tom looks to be right around 1948 or perhaps just a bit after.

Slingerland first officially introduced Blue Sparkle in 1948. Large beavertails were first introduced in late 1947, with 1948 their first full year. But the transition from using streamline “cigar” lugs to using the new large beavertails was not overnight. Slingerland continued to make some drums with streamlines as it used up stock, so streamlines will still appear for a while in the post-1947 period.

Below is a very nice early 1948 oval badge Black Diamond Radio King kit that Mark Cooper (coopersvintagedrums.com) once had.

In addition, drums with streamline cigar lugs will actually appear right on up until 1955. Snare drums notwithstanding, this is because Slingerland continued to offer single tension bass drums, for which of course beavertail lugs, which are single-ended only, cannot be used. Below is a nice 1951 oval badge example.

And BTW – the first use of floor tom legs rather than cradles by Slingerland came with the 1942 – 1943 Rolling Bombers, though these legs and brackets were made of wood. Slingerland’s metal floor tom legs began in 1947, and while looking similar in design to the ones on backbeatkeeper’s floor tom, these latter as Rich points out are not Slingerland.

Thanks for all the information, Dr. Just a question to tidy up. Is it possible that the leg mounts fit exactly the same as the Slingerland? The reason I ask is that I can't see any extra holes, so I am assuming that they are the same spacing for the screws? Again, thanks for the information, it is greatly appreciated.
