There are a lot of kits on ebay, so a link would help....
But it sounds from your description like the kit is a later XPK/APK....

yes. that's the kit. Thanks.
Dave
Art Deco II lugs, triple flange hoops, birch shell w/ no re-rings. Late 70's early 80's
$385 would be a good price.
thank you for your time!

I think they are quite a lot newer than that - they are pretty much identical to the kits in the 1990-catalogue, as can be seen at drumarchive.com/premier
If they are black inside, they are APK (most likely) - and are eucalyptus/birch without rings.
Without a better picture, is impossible to tell they are not Projectors - thin birch shells with re-rings (unlikely, though.) These would be natural wood on the inside.
The price is good anyway - though APKĀ“s are plentiful and rather cheap nowadays. The kit seems to be in very good order.
But I would ask for more pictures in higher resolution. If it is a Projector, I would be willing to pay a lot more.

Could be a Cabria LS. I believe these were a transition period, phasing out the APK. They pretty much looked like APKs, but weren't black inside the shells. Mine has square heads on the bass drum t-rods though. The other hardware on the photos looks right for the period & my badges are exactly the same. They have the "Made In England written in a single line, as opposed to "Made In" the "England" underneath. I didn't see this one on sites with badge listings, but after digging through pics on google this seems to be a late 90s badge, which would correspond to the Cabria LS period. It's really hard to tell from the pic showing the underneath of the snare, but it looks like it could be a birch/asian mahogany shell. Mine are like this, with the asian mahogany (or Lauan or whatever you call it) being closer to the outside of the shell. Though his could be wrap or shadow in the picture or just random pixels...
If it is a Cabria LS, these were entry-level kits. The snare is pretty ordinary, but the kick is a monster with emads on it. Mine is surprisingly lightweight for a 22". The toms have a nice deep tone, much sustain and stay in tune pretty well. The wrap is thinish. Same great Premier diamond chrome! All said it beats the hell out of most major MIT/MIJ offerings from this period, in this price range IMO. I bought mine cheap to flip but ended up keeping it for live gigs because bandmates thought it was shameful to sell them.
Hope his helps
