Very saddened today when packing up my 1976 Vistalite kit in preparation for a gig Wednesday night when I noticed a long crack from the middle of the bass drum through one of the spur mount holders and out to just short of the side of the shell-I have so taken such good care of this kit......I have no idea how to repair-looking for some help and guidance......thanks

Weld On #4 acrylic glue and strap clamps. Easy peasy. I've repaired many a Vistalite with Weld On products. Works every time. Stronger than the stuff they used at the factory. Hit the link I provided below. Good luck with your repair.

While you're at it...
Run a bead of Weld On over each seam on every drum in the kit. The seam on Vistalites is a 'V' shaped channel with a little adhesive at the bottom of the channel. Use the Weld on to fill the seam. It will prevent any future breaks along the seams of the shells which is their weakest point. You won't have to worry about seam breaks if you take this simple and inexpensive preemptive step.
