HELP! Radio King snare lug just broke! Last viewed: 8 hours ago

Hey guys,

I just got a Radio King snare 14by7. Amazing snaredrum.

Now one lug just breaks (the metal broke in two).

So now I have this amazing snaredrum, but without one lug!

So I can't tune it anymore. This is very frustrating.

Can anyone help me? I just need one lug.

I checked ebay, but only bassdrum and floortom lugs available.

Are there any alternatives for this lug, so at least I can play the drum?

Thanks a lot!

This guy is selling a whole set (16) I'd go onto here and click "ask a question" and see if he has any singles for sale. Rich http://www.ebay.com/itm/Slingerland-Radio-King-Gene-Krupa-30s-40s-Vintage-Snare-Drum-Lugs-16-pc-Lug-Set-/190989848993?pt=Vintgae_Drums_Percussion&hash=item2c77e1d1a1

Post a ad in the want to buy section here also. Someone should have some for you. Those are pretty easy to find. Buy a couple spares if you can they are good to have. Yours look nickel plated. First generation "Super Lugs" as Slingerland called them. Some call them the small beavertails. Good luck and nice snare!

Wow, Thanks a lot for the info! I didn't know how to call the lugs.

Mine look like snadblasted or so, they are more 'grey' than other. Are this the ones that are nickel plated? The ones on ebay look like more 'shiny' metal ones. Is there a difference?

So this are easy to find? That is great to hear...I only could use the snare one time before this happend! And I loooove the sound! Very frustrating ;)

I find a lot of bassdrum and tom lugs, but no nickel plated snare lugs.

I'm also looking for the original hoops, but this is something that is not nessecary.

In a pinch you could use a later sound king lug until you find the correct one. Same hole spacing...

You will want to keep the early Super Lug long tension rod insert. Note how yours sticks out an 1/8" or so and the eBay ones are almost flush.

I just finished cleaning all of my extra lugs. I have a nickel late model (has the step) that you can have. It will stick out like a sore thumb but better than busted down on the side of the road :-).

Pic below. You can also contact this seller. They have been good to me matching condition and such.
