An acquaintance of mine is selling a vintage kit from the 50s. He's got some cymbals with it that he's trying to date and also come up with an estimate of possible value for selling purposes. He dropped me a line in regard to the cymbals but I thought I had better turn it over to you experts here on the forum.

His first cymbal (see 1st pic attached) is a 15 inch A ZIldjian Co (made in USA). From the research I've done I believe it to be from the 40s-50s era. I'm looking for confirmation of that as well as an estimate of possible value.

The hi-hats that he's got with his kit measure 11 inches. One is a K-Zildjian Constantinople made in Turkey (see pics 2 & 3) with some sort of signature on it and the other has a stamp of what appears to be some sort of sword on it (see pic 4). Any help on dating either of these as well as estimates on price would be greatly appreciated. THANKS!

i was thinking the 40's trans stamps had that cross hatching or lines in the z. i am not seeing it there, but it still may be. still would be early 50's and older.

maybe 30's on the constantinople?

i think the sword stamp is an older zilco.

Thanks for the input, Mike!

I'm assuming that there's not anything of much value there?

Originally I thought the one with the sword stamp might be a Leedy, since it looked like two "e's" I was seeing with my one good eye (lol)!

certainly some good value there. i just havent had enough of those to give a lot of input.

the 15 trans stamp will certainly be desirable depending on weight. could be a crash or a top or bottom hat, based on the weight. value could be 100-200,thinner the higher.

the k constantinople don't command big bucks. ive got a 12 like it and was offered 150 once. not really sure on it or the zilco though. could always check some completed ebay sales.
