Guys, I finally got around to taking some pics of my sling snare, it was purchased in 1969 and was a 70 model, 10 lugs, I bought in at the niles plant, and would like to know more about what model it is, and what it is made of, I appreciate your help.

It looks to be a 1973 Slingerland Super Sound King, if that is this snare then it's a brass shell with chrome plating. Very nice snare! Excited

cmartin hit the nail on the head. Definitely a Super Sound King. Same chrome-over-brass shell as the Gene Krupa Sound King, but with an extended parallel snare mechanism akin to Ludwig's Super Sensitive.
Great drum if the snare mechanism's in decent shape.
That is one concern, the throw off is kind of weak, what I mean is it doesn't hold well in snare mode, sometimes on its own it releases snares, can it be lubed and refirbished, or should I keep en eye out for a replacement, if so, what type should I try to get, I'm sure some of you have one I can buy that would work....
