Help ID'ing my first kit

hi there i was wondering if you guys could help me identify my kit i was browsing around the site looking at the drum ID links at the top and i think i figured it out but i would still like to know for sure what it is. i was thinking it was an old Star drum from the late 60s or early 70s.

here are some pics of the snare which is the only drum together atm i have them all disassembled right now for cleaning and i stupidly did it with out taking pikcs of it set up first but i found a kit online that looks about the same

^thats the only badge on it all the drums ahve one and MADE IN JAPAN is engraved on every piece of metal big enough to have it on there leading me to believe its Japanese...

it has an old style bass drum rail for the rack toms and a cymbal holder thing attached to the side

here's the cymbal mount, on a side note both cymbal tighteners were broken off in it when i bought it so if anyone has any advice on a good way to get them out would be helpful

some little side notes

[*]it was a double bass kit but i lost one bass drum to a flood some years back in my friend's Aunt's basement

[*]all the drums have rounded bearing edges

[*]they have triple flanged drum hoops but the bass drums have special hoops with metal outlining the wrap on either side i can get a pic if you need one

Here's some pics of my "Kent" made in Japan kit. Same wrap and lugs. That's pretty standard fare stencil stuff you have there. I had the edges done, used some tom suspension, and with the right heads, these things sing. The two tom pics are of the same drum, one with flash, one without. the light plays strange tricks on the wrap.

"Stencil" refers to the many brands of japanese drums that all seem to resemble each other, copys of the U.S. drums of the era. They took styling from the slingerlands, gretsch, ludwing and rogers drums(that's why the lugs look like old slingerlands). All in all, not the worst drums, mine sound pretty good. Alot cheaper than the us drums. Mostly made by pearl and tama/star. Tons of different names used.

Don't many of these use finer threaded or metric tension rods? I remember incompatibility issues... I had some of this stuff a while ago... might still have some parts or lugs left.

Definitely Star, and worth restoring. If you need pointers on things like how to work over the shells and edges, just pop a note. That is a nice wrap. Good luck with them! BTW, cleaning the lugs should be done with rubbing compound. It takes a little longer than some other methods, but when complete they are clean and protected.
