Help Identifying Old Snare

Loading...

Hey there, I guess I'm officially the new guy...At least to this forum anyway. I have been playing for nearly 30 years. I recently aquired a snare that I'm reasonably sure is even older that me :-) Any help identifying it would be greatly appreciated.

1)The shell and hoops are wooden.

2)There is no badge...but there is an eagle holding an american flag with the word "america" over it, painted on the shell.

3) The shell is 8x13

4) It has 5 lugs.

5) the batter head is "Imperial Brand / White Calf / WFL

the snare head is " Imperial Brand / Transparent / WFL

I have a photo that I will atempt to attach.

I will be happy to provide any additional info/photos as needed

Thanks a bunch,

Ben

Looks like WFL entry level marching drum from the 40s or 50s. You see a lot of them with that flag. Some were American Legion drums. Very common, and unfortunately have very little value.
