Help identifying Ludwig drum set, 18x16 bass, 14x14 floor, 10x8 tom

Loading...

Heya, just got this ludwig set really cheap. Bought it originally to use the hardware on a 18x12 vistalite shell I have. This set has the larger lug spacing so it lives to see another day. Guy i bought it from said its from the 70's, but it has a weird badge and sizes. Sounds awesome though. No other badges on the kit, other than the floor hardware that says ludwig. Any help appreciated!

I've never seen that badge, but the tom mount is 80's and the depth of the bass drum makes me think later 80's at least

That's an interesting kit for sure. I'd have to guess that it's an imported Ludwig due to the badge being different than normal and not having 'USA' on it or even a circle R. I'd also guess it's from the 90s. -But I could be way wrong on all counts- just guessing.

Modular hardware says 80's. Badge only on bass drum, might be a homemade Ludwig. Shell inside photo would help. That era would be some pretty thick shells is Ludwigs...bass drum is converted floor rom I bet. If there is no other hardware on small Tom for mounting, then I'd say it definitely pieced together.

Its better to have people think you're an idiot, than to open your mouth and prove them wrong, unless you doubt yourself then speak away....
