Help Identifying Kit - Premier Cabria PK, APK, or XPK

Loading...

Hey everyone,

I am in the process of cleaning my old premier kit. I am not sure it qualifies as 'vintage' as I think it was made in 2004-2006. I know that it is a Premier Cabria, but unsure whether it is a PK, APK or XPK. From what I have seen online I think it might be the APK or XPK due to the finish (laquered). I understand the XPK has 100% maple shells, but I am unsure of how to check this. I saw another kit online which looked similar (had the same badges and hoops looked the same) and was a 'premier cabria exclusive' kit (the earlier version of XPK).

I bought it in 2005/2006. The snare is from Dixon. Any help is greatly appreciated, so thanks in advance :)

The difference between the kits is:

PK (Replaces Cabria Lite)

Basswood shells

Wrap finishes

APK

Ash/Maple shells

More colours

Wrap/Lacquer finish

XPK (Replaces Cabria Exclusive)

100% Maple shells

Die Cast Hoops

Lacquer Finishes

Thanks again.

Chris

Is it a wrap or lacquer?

Those aren't DC rims so it's not the premo Cabria, it's either a PK or APK.

Found it!!

Thanks for the help Eric. I think it is a wrap actually, but not sure. How can you tell? There's a seam line running up the drums which made me think it was a wrap.

It's none of those models. The big 'C' series Cabria ran from '01-'05. It was the second generation Cabria and the first from Taiwan. The Cabria PK,APK and XPK lines came after the big 'C' badge series and featured the wing type badge.
