Help identifying bass drum pedal

Loading...

Hello,

This appears to me to be either an early Sonor or Trixon bass drum pedal. It came without a beater and the leather strap was broken from age and dryness. I replaced the strap and added (and bent) a beater to fit. The seller thought it might be from a cocktail kit. The beater does not travel very far at all, and is slightly smaller than the normal diameter beater shaft. I could find no markings except for "KGB" and "K R 1" on the chrome portion of the axle. Maybe the "KGB" explains it all, a spy pedal?

I saw a similar pedal in a 1958 Sonor catalog and it does have the same blue paint color as early Sonor pedals I have seen. If anyone has any thoughts or leads, I would appreciate hearing from you. Cheers, and stay safe during the "new normal".

Wow, This group is a brain trust. Thanks so much for the help. I guess I am too quick to assign that shade of blue to Sonor and Trixon. I will have to look into the Deri brand. If it is not too much trouble I will post a couple of other unidentifiable (to me) bass drum pedals and high hat stands in the future to try to stump the band. Thanks again.
