Help Identifying a Ludwig snare drum Last viewed: 7 hours ago

I appears to be 69' model

It look like a 14x6.5" supra shell, 10 lugs, but bowtie lugs.

Does anyone as ever seen this model ?

Is it an original model or the Imperial lugs have been replaced by bowtie ?

I'd say the lugs have been replaced. There have surfaced some with different lugs like yours, but quite rare. I think that would be much later than '69, more like '79, as the earlier badge like that had pointy ends, whereas yours are rounded.

Perhaps is this a LM 302 model ? Someone have replaced the black and grey badge by a B&O one.

I really don't understand : the serial number indicate an late 60's model, but the rounded angles indicates a late 70's model.

And the shell got an internal muffler and P85 throwoff.

There is a strange, dullness to the sheen of the shell, too.

From O-Lugs

There is a strange, dullness to the sheen of the shell, too.

This snare drum is not mine, I will ask about the sheen and if I can have some other pictures.

For one thing, it is an 8 lugger. That eliminates supra with acro lugs.

It has ten lugs.

I guess the finish looks okay, after all. I have no idea about that drum. It's unusual. It looks like an 80's 6.5 chrome Acrolite...?????? News to me!

EDIT: Oh...it does have ten lugs, eh? Then it's probably a Supra that someone put bowties on. That's all I can think of, anyway. But, Ludwig has been known to be inconsistent in the parts they use at times -e.g., Standards with Classic lugs.

Here is a picture of the eyelet inside the shell, it look like it's not original. Possibly the original badge (black/gray?) have been removed and changed by a B&O one.

perhaps it could be a steel LM302, the badge and the throw-off have been changed.
