If that was actually true then it would be the thinnest 22" from that era and manufacturer ever heard of for one of those. You can take it to the post offices to get an accurate weight. That will be the biggest determining factor in valuation.

Wow!

That's a primo weight. That cymbal should bring a good price.

It's a bit hard to be sure, but my guestimate would be maybe $250 - $350. There really isn't much applicable data in my database. And what you get is what you get on the day.

But talk about interesting tidbits:

Reviewing my early stuff I note 2 sales by drumaholic in 2007 of his pre split Istanbuls. A 20" weighing 2116g, and a 19" weighing 1600g. These fetched $123 for the 19" and $166 for the 20". In 2007 dollars. He has fine cymbals in his collection, and you can see his experience with these.

He also sold a Mehmet (that's post split into separate companies for Agop and Mehmet) which was 22" and weighed 2650g. Also a 2007 sale. Which illustrates the heavier cymbals Mehmet was favoring back then.

Over the past 5 years I've concentrated on Paiste 602s and Sound Creations because my data entry burden was getting too large. After I sold my own Istanbul pre split (and my Mehmet) I sort of lost interest...
