Hi, I have these tom mount arms also complete tom mount that goes onto the rail mount..P/M if you like...Mikey

Mikey,

Your PM box is full.

I defintely could use the L arm that has the round textured knurled part that is clamped onto the telephone dial type.

It turns out I don't need the part that clamps onto the rail itself.

If you look at the attached picture, you'll see the one I need is like the one pictured on the larger rack tom on the left in the picture.

PLease PM me and let me know how much you want for shipping to Leesburg, VA 20176.

Sorry to hijack the thread.

Thanks!

Yup. Bought the kit from Greg in Vienna. Sorry I do not have an extra Tom arm. This kit has a different type of wood for the mounted Tom as compared to the Bass drum and Floor Tom. I tuned them up a bit today and they sound pretty good. I hit hard and I hope that Tom arm holds up. It takes a bit getting used too. Thanks for the replies. Dave

Those tom arms are a little wiggly. You may want to consider a rims type mount if you see it start to pull away.

BTW -- Mine came with a chrome snare that sounds pretty sweet. It is pretty heavy drum, although the throw itself is nothing to write home about.

Do any you guys gig with this type of set up playing rock?

I actually use a similar set up,(20x14, 12x8, 14x14).. I love my set up for a lot of reasons. Comfortable to play, easy to pack up, and unpack. Fits most of the tiny bar spaces / dance halls. As far as sound goes, my kit is a little newer than yours, (70's), and thicker shells. I have gigged with a 60's MIJ kit, and I think they can have a great rock sound. I use evans heads. G2's for batters, and hydraulics on the reso side. I find the hydraulic resonants give the smaller toms a bit more low end and oomph. They make a small kit sound huge. My 14 actually sounds thunderous. I love it. My band plays everything from the Stones, to FooFighters.

Dav, Looks a lot like a kit I got from a nieghbor. Same deal, no ID at all except for the floor tom which is an Apollo. I took all the hardware off the 20" kick for cleaning and was amazed at how thin the shell was. I think it might become a big bucket or something. The hardware seems to be slingy or gretch style. Fairly heavy. Snare is thin shell as well with no snare bed. All the shells are luan inside. Thought about restoring them but I think I will just repurpose them.
