Help I.D. this cymbal mount.

Loading...

This cymbal mount/stand assy. came with a Slingerland drum set that is in the back ground of the first picture. The drums, 3 ply w/re-rings, I believe are from around '77-'78 if I dated the Niles USA badge serial #s correctly, (293xxx, 295xxx). I suspect this is not a Slingy cymbal mount, not sure about the "L' rod & extension either. Can any one tell me what you think they are? The spacing for the shell mounting screws is 2 1/4", not 2 1/8" like some 60's Slingy cymbal mounts I have. Check-out the thumb screws & note the "L" rod has no knurling. I do have the rest of the tilter. Just forgot to install it for the pictures. Thanks guys.

I associate this type of L -shaped handle to tighten things w/ Premier.( I also believe some Asian hardware). I don't recognize the lug. (BTW not a strong reliable system).

If my memory serves me correctly, I believe I have seen the bracket on some Slingerland-copy MIJs (drums with stick savers and other Slingerland-type hardware). It's been a while though, so I may be wrong.

I'm no guru, just a vintage drum junkie!

Mikey is right (as usual).

This is from my 60's japanese Hoshino. -seems to be exactly the same mount.

The arm is different but both yours and mine can have been changed innumerous times over the years.
