Help an ignorant newbie?

I have to admit, I know next to nothing about vintage drums, or if this one even IS vintage, but this snare has piqued my interest, and I'd really appreciate some help determining the age, quality, and value of it.

It's described as a 6.5 x 14 wood snare (no type of wood specified) with a chrome wrap, light pitting on the chrome, and the seller claims it's known as "The Ludwig Fat Snare." The seller also says the strainer sometimes sticks, and I can't help but notice that none of the pictures really give a good view of the strainer or the throw-off. The seller is asking $150. Does anyone know what this thing is or what it might be worth? Thanks a ton,

Butterfingers

80s Luddy Rocker snare. 150 is a bit high. You can find this snare in the drum guide.

Nice enuff snare...maple shell, good edges, decent enuff hardware. Not a very sought-after finish...I agree, $150 is high....it has a market value more like $100

$100 max (no way I'd pay over $60 for it).

This is not "the good stuff" but it might be fine. It's Ludwig's econo stuff.

Truthfully, drums are how you play, what you play, how you tune, how you tweak, how you muffle, how you blend, what heads you use, what snares you use and also the quality of the drum.

Not saying the drum quality doesn't matter, of course it does, but a good drummer could play most any functioning drum and make music.
