It is... unique! Clean 'em up! Get rid of the rust, put some rims and heads on the reso side and you'll have a cool, unique looking kit.

I played my kit for a while without bottom heads while waiting for some parts and it sounded really good...better...mor vintage with the res heads, but don't let missing res heads stop you from beating on your drums:2Cents:

On posting pics, if you get a free photobucket.com account, you can upload pics there & paste the direct link assigned to each image directly into your post. There's an "insert image" tool on the toolbar above. I even have an iPhone photobucket app that allows me to do it all from my phone if I need to. The app is free and I'm sure it's available on the Android marketplace as well. The in-line images look like this:

Hey, Welcome to the forum!

I just took a peek at your MIJs on your blog... and they are a DEAD RINGER to the blue sparkle MIJs I have (except mine haven't faded; they're still blue!).

Mine have no badges of any kind, but the lugs, hoops, claws, T-handles, AND what you have left of blue sparkle seem to be indentical!

Well... got to get off of here for a while. Got a computer/projector "emergency" at the elementry school building. Probably something unplugged...

Welcome aboard, you are going to be addicted like the rest of us! Yes, they are indeed STAR, the company that would become TAMA. I sold an identical kit, only with the Majestic badges, just a few months ago. Is it 12-12-16-20?

If you want me to go into the whole, very long diatribe about what stencils are, let me know.

Basically, they are all identical copies, only the badge is set for the distributor. It's a long story, but worth it (again). I have become somewhat of an historian on the MIJ drums. and I prefer Star over Pearl built drums of this era, from the late 50s, very early 60s-early70s.

Dang Brian, those are nice! Majestic is, indeed, a Star stencil, so they are a "matched" kit. The Majestic Semi-Pro is mostly 3 ply w/rings, not too sure about the bass. If you need anything, get with Mikey777 or myself.
