Hi do you know anything about Arbiter vintage cymbals? Recently aquired an 18 Arbiter crash with a kit - didn't know they even did them. Any collectability?
Thanks!

Hi, Brody.
Gosh, I feel pretty dumb for saying that I can answer Arbiter questions because I'm failing badly!
I have never heard nor seen any Arbiter cymbals. I would love to see a picture of your crash cymbal. Can you post a few?Burger Kin
Yeah, watch this space, it may take a few days to get round to it! It's basically your usual vintage cymbal - no printing, shallow bell, with logo etched in.
Hi all......new here and just bought a six piece Arbiter set(Advanced Tuning)It is in great shape but missing legs (used my Ludwig standard legs.....fine)It also is minus snare assembly and doesn't have a tom mount on the bass drum but seems like stands will work.It is dark green/brown/olive in color.Have seen and love the tribute web site.....if anyone has extra legs love to hear from you. These things weigh a ton.Thought the third tom was a floor tom but they are a 10,12,14 w/16 fl. tom and 22 bass.with 14 snare........pretty nice but yet to play them.
We'll...it's only been like, what?....7 years since I posted on this thread last? LOL! My absences are very much fewer and ****her between than they used to be!
Well, I'm sure Arbiter AT drums (with which I have plenty of experience with) have pretty much disappeared from the scene -almost completely it seems!
I bought my AT kit in 1999 and it's still absolutely in 100% working condition with zero problems! But...it IS a "home/recording" kit -meaning that it doesn't get moved around! It's as heavy as a piano! I wouldn't sell it for less than a fortune because it's just so damn weird and sounds so damn good! I've bonded with it....."James Bonded" with it! LOL
Hope everyone is well and I hope to be back sooner than 7 years from now!
Peace!
Hi O Lugs.....Ive just bought another Arbiter Autotune in white. The first one i bought had the black blocks and the second kit i just bought has the rollers. This is the parts under the hoops that when you turn pulls the head down. I have also had but recently sold an Arbiter AT snare drum. The Autotune drums were very widely used by abba's drummers in the 70's. There is a great live show in 1977 Australia i think and wow these two drummers knocking the hell out of The Autotunes. That was the abba sound......sean
We had a kit in a local Sam ash for a while.... I thought about it a few times, just. Evacuee it's such a cool conversation piece. But I didn't, and with my lack of space problem it's probably for the best.
Man, I have never regretted getting my kit and then later adding a 16 X 16 FT and then someone from this very forum had a really good-sounding matching snare that I bought....I think they are just beautiful and they sound good...not a great touring kit at all, however! They are just too heavy and the lacquer finishes always get scratched.
I've taken my kit down for awhile and put it into storage, but I really do believe that someday...far into the future, someone will uncover my kit and it will be like a "holy grail" to a future collector the way vintage Gladstone drums are now! I mean, hey...it could happen! :)
