That's a cool old kit...actually, both of 'em, but particularly the duco-fade (I know they stopped calling the finish duco after the '60's, but that's really what it is).

Looks like it has had some wear...but you don't wanna mess with the original finish, even though. Wonder what it would take to just shine 'em up and get 'em to glow a bit more (without effecting the original paint) ?

Anyway, very cool...do you have snares for either ? Or any of the memriloc arms ????

Duco huh? Wierd. I dont have a snare for the Duco but I use a ludwig black sparkle snare with the white one. That will change though. The white one will come back to my home practice space and the Duco's will go to my bands practice lockout. How much would a kit like this be nowadays?

Like I said, nobody calls it Duco if the kit's 70's or newer...I think this finish was called tobacco sunburst or tobacco fade.... something like that.

Market value of the 4 pcs. w/ no snare....around $700 or so. If you had the arms, maybe about $800 tops.

I really like it...it's nice that it stuck together for the past 30 years....

Tobacco it is then. I have the 12" tom that goes with it and the tom's harware for it. I'm just used to the 4 piece configuration. I played it at practice today and it was huge sounding electricit. My band members really liked it.

I played the new kit at practice today. Damn it's loud! The sound from the toms were very warm and cut through. Its a ****ing keeper. Also today I picked up a Slingerland 14" snare drum for 75 bucks. It has this badge on it.....

It needs some work but I tried it along side my Ludwig black sparkle snare. Different sounds of course but when the Slingy gets a tune up I think I'll be using that for gigging/practice and the Luddy for recording at home. I think I'm all set Guitar Dude Man
