Heavy 15" Zildjian A hats

I got these hats with a kit I purchased and I'm wondering what sort of playing they may have been designed for? They seem quite heavy - too heavy for me - at 1440gm and 1385gm and pretty loud too. Are they desireable?

I have a pair of 14" A's from the same period (purchased on this forum) but they are lighter and easier on the ears.

Also the stamp looks to be 1960's but I'm not sure. Can anyone confirm? The kit they came with dates to around 1970 and I'd say these came with the kit when new.

The stamp looks like a 1960's stamp. I have a set from the 70s which are lighter at 1314 and 1172 grams and love them.

Thanks Herronscott. I actually gave them another crack yesterday with a different kit in a different room and they sounded a lot better. They may stay afterall.

Early New Beats? They came out late 60's,didn't they?
