Hayman Snare Triplets

Loading...

Just finished the rehab of these three Hayman Snares. The chrome/alloy one is said to be quite rare but I am not sure. The nice sliver ingot one goes with the bop kit I posted here before. The silver turned goldish is an extra I had planned to use for parts but it was in to good of shape so I left it together, but with a non original throw off.

A few more photos.

And I am in dire need of an original throw off for the brighter silver one that goes with my Hayman bop kit shown, that I listed in this forum a month or two ago.

The goldish tinted one I will probably end up selling. These snares just have such an awesome sound to them. I have rehabbed 4 Hayman snares and two kits over the past couple of years and never do these drums disappoint both in build quality and sound. I personally think they are one of the best kept secrets in vintage drums.

nopork!

Gotta tell ya... I just watched a Maynard Ferguson performance from 1970 yesterday. He was doing a couple off the MF Horn I album, and the drummer is of course Randy Jones. ( who I have always liked with Maynard! ) Anyway, he's playing a Hayman set in like a "blue silk" wrap, and the drums sound GREAT. I went back to see if it was one of the three snares you have here, but no... it was a snare with the wrap that matched the rest of the kit. Still, you don't see that many full Hayman kits, so it was nice... as are your three snares here!

You're killing us! Im saving for Hayman set a friend is selling. It has Bonham sizes w/ a 6,5x14 SD! I already have a Gold ingot set w/ matching snare and they sound so cool! Their own unique sound. (I blame the acrylic paint the shells are painted with). If you wanna sell one of your snare please let me know!
