Has Anyone Tried This Drum Wrap?

Loading...

This stuff seems too good to be true..Wrap a four piece for $80? Pre-cut sizes at no charge?

Anyone ever tried it?

seems quite thick and may make fitting heads difficult. It looks like the stuff I used on this kit - thick, soft and durable but heads fit real tight. It's used for upholstery and has a fabric backing. It was very cheap too. I did the whole kit for about $35

I was considering buying this for one of my kits also. I might but I would cut the wrap at the edge of the head's collar.

Currently my first set ever 1983 Pearl Export original owner. 2008 Grestch Catalina Maple, and a 1970 Star kit. Many snares including a big R Dynasonic.
Previous Rogers Holiday 12, 16, 20 and powertone snare.
Premier apk and Premier Cabria kits.

Wrapping an old kit is a challenge for anyone. It doesn't matter whether you have done it dozens of times , or never: it's time consuming and expensive, so anything that can turn out a well wrapped kit and especially for a cheap buck is welcomed. This stuff looks really promising but I've never tried it. My guess is that it is vinyl and one concern I might have about wrapping in thick vinyl would be excessive damping of the drums.

Fayray, if possible to guess, just how thick was the stuff you used? This stuff claims to be "credit card thin"...
