Just want to say Happy Birthday to the late Mr John Lennon.....he would have been 71 today (Oct 9)

I know its not really drum related, but John Lennon was a major influence on music, he changed it forever. :)

If John weren't such a WANKER to Ringo, I'd join in...I've played with a few who thought they were Lennon, but they weren't even fit to wipe Lennon's boots. But I HATE the way Lennon treated Ringo...

Well ... that was appropriate. Next time, maybe just table it and fight the urge to opine. Paul was just trying to start a thread of 'honor' for a great musician who is no longer with us. Nothing more.

Yeah- I hear ya. John was a GREAT musician. He WAS the great song lyricist of the Beatles...

After all- few are suitable enough to even think of wiping John's boots!!!

Happy B-day, Johnny!!!!

I was born and raised in Manhattan. The Dakota (the building where John lived with his family) was only a short subway ride away. I stood across the street from the entrance and cried with everyone who came to mourn John's loss and tragic death. There was a palpable sense of 'community' in that crowd. The people that formed the crowd of mourners, who were standing there keeping vigil the night he was shot, is a testimony to the positive effect John and his music had in bringing people together.

In Peace.

God rest your soul wherever you are, John Lennon.

Too many great drums to list here!

John will on forever in his songs long live the beatles or whats left of them did any one watch the George Harrison special

April 2nd 1969 scarfed pink champagne holly wood and 65/66 downbeat snare, and , supra same year very minty kit old pies
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.
