Happy 4th

Loading...

Hope you are all having a little enjoyment on the 4th. We are doing a bit of covert activity with family.

As a related drumming thing, there is a slightly higher activity level in the neighborhood but incredibly off the norm. A band set up at one of the waterfront restaurant wharves the other day. From the road above on my bike, I could see that the bass drum had a Rogers decal on it. It semed he was going to do the gig with just the snare and bass. I couldn't make out if the snare was a Rogers and I wasn't going to be eating (and paying), so didn't go down to check it any closer.

Hi Dan!

We're getting ready for a nice 4th of July out here in my new home in Calimesa, Ca! I live in a nice Senior community and there's a pot-luck luncheon at 11:30. Then, off to my girlfriend's house, just 2 miles away, where ribs and tri-tip are on the smoker. Can hardly wait for dinner!

Drumwise, I'm slowly working on my recently acquired 1965 Slingerland Modern Solo set. Not sure how long it will take to refurb, but I've got nothing but time!

A Happy and Safe 4th of July to the entire VDF family!

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.
