Guitar center sent wrong cymbal

Loading...

From Ludwig-dude

They sent you the cymbal that they listed. Its listed as a ZBT, and you got a ZBT. Obviously they messed up with the listing's picture, but that is all. Expecting to get a vintage A just because that's what the picture shows when it's clearly listed as a ZBT is like expecting a vintage Ferrari to show up when you bid on a Buick. DOH

In fairness to this they have also listed and described an acrolite as being a 13" snare not a 14". Forget the member on here who bought it, but they had asked if Ludwig ever made a 13" acro. Bottom line is we as players buy with our eyes. Because ( and as many of us know ) many a time an item is described or listed wrong, but sight lets us know what we're looking at. How many pawn shop deals, flea market buys, sitting by the trash drums have we seen come through here where many of us just sit back and go " why not me!!! "

Hopefully GC will resolve this issue, and not shocking that new guys are to blame ( seriously this chain goes through people like bottles of water in the desert )

teverson-sr - Them being the way they are is why I wanted to open my own little shop. At least with me you know who you are dealing with. And if I mess up, you know exactly who to talk to. Interestingly enough there are a lot more people on the same page with us than I originally thought.

Moral of the story on this ZBT is that the OP should have asked questions rather than assume they would send the pictured cymbal figuring he was getting the deal of a lifetime on a vintage A rather than the advertised ZBT. Lets face it, the ad was for a ZBT, you got a ZBT. Why would anyone expect otherwise, wrong picture or not? DOH

I expected the cymbal to be what was shown in the photo. I figured someone there just didn't know what series the cymbal was because there was no marking other the Zildjian stamp so they went with ZBT. What is the point of a photo with the listing then? Like I said, even if it the photo is just a reference for the condition of the cymbal. The one they sent was dented up and the finish was horrible.

They (GC) agree that the cymbal listed is not the cymbal I got. They are however unable to locate the cymbal listed so they are giving me a refund.

Oh, and I bought another used "ZBT" from guitar center and it is definitely not a "ZBT"....get this, it was the actual cymbal pictured in the listing

How has he gotten "burnt"? He bought a ZBT and got a ZBT. Someone used the wrong picture @ GC clearly and the OP was thought they were taking advantage of that. I still say questions should have been asked before assuming that a vintage A would have been received in place of a ZBT. You know what they say when you assume......Walking

This thread has gone on way too long about moaning over "getting screwed" on a cymbal, when the OP clearly was not screwed over.

If this was a craigslist ad with no picture and it was described as a ZBT, would you have responded to it? Probably not. If it was listed as a vintage A and when you got there it was a ZBT, then yes, I would say you were screwed over and wasted your time.

Clearly they are just refunding you so they don't have to hear about it anymore and then they will relist it with the correct picture next time. They never found the cymbal pictured most likely because it was already sold a while ago and someone used the wrong picture file. It happens all the time. Mistakes are made. People are human. Life goes on. I wish everyone else would too. Federal case closed!

They advertised a ZBT. The picture... is the picture. Could have been a puppy. Might as well have been a puppy. You are ticked off at GC and want a refund because you tried to rip off the store caught in a possible mistake. A simple call asking to clarify the cymbal as listed would have cleared this up. The STORE would have informed you the listing was correct, the cymbal is a ZBT or what ever.... and the picture was mistakenly applied to the item description. Or The Store would have informed you, no... the listing was a mistake and the pictured cymbal is what you get... at X price as listed. You are kind of more upset at not having successfully taken unfair advantage, than anything else. And that is my two cents. You cannot pin dishonesty on GC without some careful observation with a hand held mirror on this one. Now, you can call it anything you want. But... this is how I see it.

This is exactly what I was saying. I'm glad somebody else with common sense came to the conversation finally. :D
