Gretsch T Rod question.... Last viewed: 1 minute ago

Does anyone know when Gretsch switched from the T Rod w/out the built in washer about an inch down the rod to the one that does.....or vice versa?

I've never seen a Gretsch trod with a permanently attached washer. But I haven't seen any new Gretsch stuff, so if they have them now, it must be after the 80's (and probably in the last ten years).

Ok......can you tell me what this is? I have a 20" black/purpleish sparkle bd. Its missing its round badge and the bannana bar but it has the tag inside still. The serial number is 5 numbers long. It also has a felt strip with a tension knob next to the cymb. arm. The mount has no exposed screws. The internal screws are the rounded slotted screws. My best guess is mid 60's. Sound about right?

Sorry, didn't understand your question but the picture makes it clear. Yes, that t-rod and claw were used from the late 50's up to modern times, but the RB drum with a tag inside dates it from 63 to 70.

Had to put my cheaters on to get a glimpse of your tiny pic. It looks identical to my early and mid 70's Gretsch claws and rods.
