Gretsch Strainer/snare Butt Combos

Loading...

Do any of you Gretsch experts out there happen to know what determined whether a Micro-Sensitive Strainer was matched up at the factory with a one-point or four-point snare butt?Help2

Was it the particular model of snare drum, the year of manufacture, both, or some other factor or factors?

Also, was the Micro-Sensitive strainer mounted to the shell with three screws?

THANKS in advance for your time and your help.

Happy Holidays!

The micro is attached with two bolts and an inner shell plate. The third hole is for the tension adjustment screw cylinder.

I believe the one-point butt was superseded by the four-point butt around 1959-60.
