Hello vintage drum fans, Eddie here. I just bought on eBay (but haven't received it yet) a Gretsch snare that I need help identifying. I think it's from the 2000's. It's a 5x14 WMP drum. Ten Catalina-type lugs, throw-off is beefier than a Catalina-has Gretsch drop G logo, inner ply has no silver sealer-appears to be birch or maple...hard to tell with bottom head on, no rerings, kind of a pewter-dirty silver color square stop sign badge with Gretsch T-bridge logo (nothing else... no USA or anything), all black hardware. It looks just like the set Vinnie Colaiuta posed behind in his endorsement pictures from the mid-2000's. Whatever it is I got my money's worth, but I was kinda' hopin' it was a better drum than the Catalina series. Don't get me wrong, I think Catalinas are the best mid-level drums made. That's why I bought a set in '05 so I could get my old Ludwigs outta' the bars. I just never liked the snare, it's really not up to par with the rest of the set. I'm a Ludwig-Slingerland guy so I really don't know much about Gretsch drums. If anybody knows what this thing is, your info would be GREATLY APPRECIATED. Thanks a bunch. Eddie Mack.

Thanks Tubthumper. I know this is way late, been real busy lately. Got the drum, as soon as my roomie has time I'll post pics. I'm not a computer guy, he is. I'm havin' a hard time figuring out how to navigate around the site and do things. Thanks for your interest and response. Eddie.

Still waiting for someone to help me post pics. Funny how when friends, relatives & roomates wanna' borrow your truck or trailer it's " Man, YEAH, of course I'll help ya' do that" and then you don't hear from 'em for weeks. Oh well, guess it's a good reason to learn how, ain't it?
