the only weird weird weird question would be. Did the Round Head to Hex (lug screw people..) start in New York? (and) then continue (yes) in Arkansas. Or.. did it begin in New York? A Minor question point/

What year were the first Arkansas drums? (that's a Nit picky question. I'd say late 1969....

Thanks for the kind words. I agree that my work brings us a lot closer to telling the accurate story. However, the level of precision that some people attribute to my guide and all of the online guides which have serial number tables is not appropriately placed. Everything is an approximation. The end points are not exact. that is why I am always ready with a disclaimer. When I wrote the my Ludwig guide, I decided to present the data graphically instead of in tables which could be misinterpreted.

As far as the round head to hex head transition and its relationship to the move from NY to AR - I addressed this on page 25. I think that the hex heads were introduced in New York in 1967 or 1968, a few years before the move to Arkansas in 1969 or 1970.
