Gretsch Model 4492 drum

Loading...

Hello,

Can anyone tell me what this little Gretsch drum is that I have?

Inside orange label says: model #4492.

Burgundy sparkle.

Round badge with pin.

8" diameter X 5 3/8" deep (measured from top of drum shell to bottom drum shell).

Hoop only on top with what looks like BroadKaster lugs? 5 lugs.

Diamond style mount that has three screws holding it on. .

This drum is very small and seems like it could be a bongo? But does that make sense and/or did Gretsch make a single mounted bongo??

Any help in indentifying this would be great?

Thanks.

David....

In the '50s and '60s Gretsch made a cocktail drum with a small bongo mounted to it. Sounds like that's what you have. In that finish, even without the cocktail drum, I'd bet there a few folks that would like to have that drum.

A few pix would help. Throw, butt, lugs and inside.
