Can't find any info on this, not even sure if it's vintage. Everything looks Gretsch, but I can't find any similar pictures or info via google search or ebay completed listings. What is it?
Thanks

It looks like someone may have custom ordered it - but why? To me it looks way too bulky with the lugs that way. Each to their own I guess.

It looks to me to be a home made drum maybe a tom cut down?..Gretsch never made a piccolo in a 5x14 with double lugs..Their piccolos would have been 4x14 and single lug...I would ask for a photo of the inside of the shell and see were the paper tag is on the drum....Mikey
The badge would have to have been moved as well if it was a tom cut down. As Mikey suggested detailed photos of the inside would reveil 1) placement of the tag 2) maybe holes that have been plugged = moving the badge etc.
If the the drum - from the inside - looks pristine and the tag looks good then maybe it was a custom job. I never saw one like that before but there's always a first.
You could maybe email Paul Cooper - Factory Productioin Manager at Gretsch (Ridgeland SC) - he may be able to help.
