Gretsch Harlequins...dusty! What to clean them with?

Loading...

Hi everyone,

I have a snare and bass drum of Gretsch Harlequins (pictures coming soon) that are pretty dusty, and I was wondering what the best way to clean them would be...damp wet rag? I'd hate for any of the finish to chip off..any advice is appreciated.

Thanks!

Was hoping someone would chime in for you..............but I just use warm water on a damp rag/towel and go over the shell several times. This removes most dust, dirt and grime.

I would use a microfiber cloth or clean t shirt.

I would use a microfiber cloth or clean t shirt.

Indeed. I use blue shop towels which are nice microfiber material.

I use the blue shop towels as well...Very absorbant and easily discarded...By changing towels often during this stage of the clean up ensures that the finish/wrap is not getting scratched any further with residual dirt, dust, etc...

Bucket of warm water with a little mild dish-wash detergent (Dawn) and a big, soft, floppy sponge gets the initial clean-up done. Careful around badges and flakey areas.

John

Too many great drums to list here!
