Help2Help2Hi guys. Restoring a 1971 SSB Gretsch Name Band and was wondering the best paint to use on the hoops? While we're on the topic, any idea what the catalog name was for this color wrap? I doesn't seem to be a faded champagne sparkle or silver-it's more golden-like, even after the Novus treatment.Thanks for your time. dean

Black satin enamel aerosol will get you that exact finish... 2-3 coats after sanding... Tough & long lasting,,

Exactly but if you don't like the fumes, you can get the same thing in a can. Because it is satin finish, apply it with a small roller evenly. You will have lots of paint left for all your other rims that you will restore Cool Dude

To spray (outdoors)... I knocked together a simple turntable cross gizmo.. comprises scrap wood & one screw...
Allows you to spray both inner & outer at the same time.. & cuts down on time...
