Gretsch gold sparkle hoops on different sparkle drum?

Loading...

Hi all

I see, from time to time, Gretsch round badge bass drums for sale on Ebay and Craigslist that have gold sparkle hoops on a different color sparkle drum. Right now in my town there's a green sparkle bass drum with gold hoops, and on Ebay there's a silver sparkle with the same deal, (though the Ebay seller says it's just "faded" color on the hoops - looks pretty gold to me).

My question is, is this something Gretsch offered for a time, or have the hoops been switched out by their owners at some point? And how should this affect the price of the bass drum?

Thanks in advance.

The wrap inlays on bass drum hoops tend to age differently than the same wrap on the shells. The possible explanation is that the wrap i glued to the shells, and tacked or stapled to the hoops. The chemical interaction from the glue and the wrap might be the reason. ome drums just look great with a hoop inlay that contrasts with the sell wrap. I don't know if any drums left the variousfactorie that way. But, many drummers did that for their own drums.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

I've seen one example of an original RB Black Nitron BD with gold sparkle hoop inlays from the factory.

Never play it the same way once.

I know Gretsch offered Gold Sparkle inlayed hoops with the Cadillac Green drums.

I think a Green Sparkle bass drum with Gold sparkle hoops would be nice.

Cool - thanks

So, can old green sparkle fade to yellow or gold and lose it's green color completely?
