I have 1980 Grestch maple clear gloss finish . Grestch thinks it is a Jasper shell. They don't know the finish used. Does anyone?

if it is very blonde like bowling alley it is clear coat of nitocellose lacquer

slightly amber would be a tint or stain with the same clear coat mentioned .

my opinion not an expert

If it's made after 1960 and before 2004 it's unlikely it's NOT Jasper. Those years are approximate, but 1980 is a pretty safe bet.

They would use Keller sometimes if it was a weird size Jasper didn't have handy.
