I'm enjoying this debate. Yes, what do you do in this situation? Who do you want to impress, (if anyone). I'm finding that, yes it can require a lot of patience, and $ to find a matching piece to an existing vintage kit, but the question remains; do you want to play it, and feel good about how it looks, (matches) with the kit, or keep the original wrap and have it look slightly odd, but original? Will you be gigging it out, and if so, will the patrons be impressed one way or the other? And the temporary re-wrap option - I kinda like this one. Not sure how that stuff works, but if you can cover an existing wrap temporarily, and retain the original wrap underneath, it sounds like a viable solution to me.
