Gretsch die cast hoop Q's........... Last viewed: 22 hours ago

Can anyone tell if this is a Gretsch die cast hoop or if not know what brand it might be? It came on a recent purchase. I have the correct replacement hoop which will get added after a clean and detail of the drum. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I can take better pics later once the drum is stripped down if these just don't do it.

Hi Glenn,

It does look like a Gretsch to me, circa 60's. Another clue is if the bottom of the aluminum drum hoop extends beyond the bottom of the die-cast hoop. Gretsch hoop channels were not as deep, exposing the bottom of the drum head hoop. Let us know. Thanks!

Hi Mark thank you very much. Seems the head hoop does extend below the die cast hoop. Here's a quick picture.

Glenn, funny you should have started this thread. In the lot I recently picked up a a die cast rim with 5 lug holes. My first thought was Gretsch and was gonna start a thread, but since it's identical to yours I guess it's a Gretsch. What's the value on just a 12" rim?

Jay, glad your question was also answered. Don't know the value sorry. I think the 12" would be a more popular size most look for with the BOP kits so sought after?
