From poppies

Amazing! About the only thing more rare would be a surviving cameo coral kit, and I'm not so sure such a thing even exists.

What about the "Polished Maple" Round Badge?

That is quite a find Manny. I hope you didn't cash in your 401k! Waiting to see the result of your efforts, but you might want to save the dirt. Even that might be vintage in this case.

Dan I think I would only do that if I could find a kit that would allow me to play like Elvin Jones or Joe Morello :)

Through the magic of fast forward all 3 shells have their initial cleaning done. I have more up to date process steps on DFO and my Facebook page.

You can see just how dirty the bass drum was in the last picture. Gives you a good idea of not just the dirt (after a wash with a damp sponge several times that black did not come off!) but also oxidation and who knows what else on the bass drum.

Updating more on DFO and Drummer World so here goes:

Gold hardware for the bass drum cleaning up nicely, hardly any fade on the drums (look at the finish under the lug) and a Hurricane on the way to my hometown.

Yes on the mean streets of Boca Raton Florida things are getting wild.

Looking great Manny. Cadillac Green with gold hardware. Stunning.

And yes, my place is in Neptune Beach and I'm about 7k miles away. We are watching Hurricane Matthew closely and praying.

Luckily the storm passed by most of South Florida. I think it is enough to convince my folks to finally move from South Florida. Time to move my one business soon I guess also.

So hardware is slowly being cleaned. Did my initial cleaning on the bass drum hoops. The hoops are not as bad as I thought.

We were fortunate too. Surge passed by at low tide. No flooding in Neptune and no damage noted at the house. Some folks from Canaveral to St Augustine got hit really hard though, and once again Haiti is hammered. Very hard to escape though. We got a heavy one in '09 with 98 mph winds in northeast MA. It tore the roofing off one section of my house but sank a few of our coastal places too.

Waiting patiently to see the final on those Cadillacs.

Manny, I remember Cooper spying out a Cadillac Green and Gold RB snare in this post of drums for sale. I spied out the corner of the possible BD, anyway, pay attention to the last post from Member drummerfish, It`s a lottery ticket and you wont know unless you scratch it.
