Gretsch Broadkaster snare

Loading...

Hi,

I have a Broadkaster snare, that I aquired some time ago, from a friend who bought it from a Pawn Shop. The drum was painted over in a crappy flat black, so I had it stripped, and put a Tama cam-action throw-off, and Preimer 8 hole diecast hoops. It sounds great !

It has a seriel number engraved in the top reinforcement hoop.

#712

Also, there is a stamp on the inside "Jamestown Plywood"

Does anyone know anything about this drum ?

thanks

Yes, you do! Excited

I think you described it rather well, is there something you have a question about exactly?

If so then you should show us a picture.

The plywood reference is interesting.

Photos, photos.....

Here are two pics of the markings inside the drum. I'm trying to find out what year this drum was made.

Nice drum. I hope you didn't put new holes in it to mount the strainer.

I had to put a few new holes in there to mount the strainer, but they are not nothing too drastic. Besides, I wanted to play the drum. It's one of my favorite snares.

Next time you need to do that (and I totally understand) check out this link. http://www.prestoplate.com/ This way you can play the drum without hurting it's value if you want to sell it later. It's a nice little service and Ryan Bennett is a good guy.

Gary
